Diana Ashley creates layered abstractions in acrylic and charcoal, drawing directly from the vivid, detailed world of her dreams. Her practice navigates the space between the subconscious and intuitive form, seeking not to illustrate the dream itself but to capture the lingering feeling it leaves behind. Ashley describes her work as “an exploration of the space where dreams break down and shape takes form.”

Rooted in deep engagement with abstraction, Ashley’s approach is shaped by the raw energy and emotive movement found in the work of Joan Mitchell. Originally from Miami and currently based in Brooklyn, Ashley has maintained a continuous connection to painting throughout her life, weaving it into her identity during periods of reflection and transformation. Her work has been exhibited at the Palm Beach Convention Center (2021) and featured in "Of Integration," a group show at Van Der Plas Gallery in SoHo (2023).
